Thank You

While much of the smoke has cleared, our communities are still reeling from the damage done by the many fires that burned throughout our great state. We are sincerely moved by the outpouring of support that we have seen bestowed upon those who have lost so much. Here are some of the many ways we have worked together to help our fellow Oregonians.

At our cash registers, customers donated and we matched to raise more than $27,500 for fire relief efforts to support the work of Red Cross Cascades Region and United Way.

In addition to collecting community contributions at checkout, we’ve pitched in and partnered to help deliver staples and supplies to McKenzie River residents.

We also worked closely with one of our local suppliers, Caruso Produce of Tualatin, to provide 100 melon bins to St. Vincent de Paul of Lane County that could be used to organize and distribute donations at a new location. The folks at Caruso stepped up, rounded up the bins and delivered them, driving from Portland to Eugene, within a day’s notice.

Several food and beverage producers have also been directly affected by the fires, so we’re collaborating with industry partners on Oregon Food & Beverage Fire Recovery. This effort connects local makers with funding, supplies and other resources to help them get back on their feet.

Our thanks go out to the coordinated efforts of the hundreds of firefighters, response teams and volunteers who have worked tirelessly over the last several weeks. It has been truly amazing to see so many people care for one another.

While we are no longer collecting donations at checkout, we encourage you to continue to donate to the following organizations, as we know that this will be a long recovery process that will require ongoing financial and community support statewide.
