Here We Go
This fresh squeezed, juicy refresher is simple to make and can be adapted to your preferences. We used Cara Cara oranges, but Blood oranges or Heirlooms will also create a wonderful flavor. Bitters Soda adds a solid cocktail element to the flavors and Fennel brings a bright, aromatic tone that works beautifully with the layers of orange.
3 oz Cara Cara orange juice, freshly squeezed
1 oz simple syrup (1:1 sugar to water)
1 oz The Bitter Housewife Orange Bitters & Soda

Carefully measure Cara Cara orange juice into a mixing glass over ice. Add simple syrup and stir thoroughly. Strain into a Coupe champagne glass. Top with as much The Bitter Housewife Orange Bitters & Soda as you wish. We used 1 oz. Place two bushy green fennel fronds (about 2 inches long) in the palm of your hand and clap hard to crush the fronds and release the aromatics. Place fronds across the liquid to one side.
NOTE: If you prefer, this cocktail can be served over ice. Simply follow the same instructions, pour over ice in a rocks glass and follow the same steps with the fennel.
