Umpqua & Market of Choice Milk, Umpqua Juices

Recall Date:

08-18-2010

Product Name:

Umpqua & Market of Choice Milk, Umpqua Juices

Batch # / UPC:

41-62

Reason for Recall:

Due to a positive identification of salmonella on some of its processing equipment, Umpqua Dairy Products Co. has issued a market withdrawal of fluid milk and juice products from its Roseburg, Ore., facility. Items not being recalled include ice cream and other dairy products, such as sour cream and cottage cheese.

Test results to date suggest that all positive cases of salmonella are linked to exterior product packaging. All of the affected products were immediately removed from Market of Choice shelves as soon as the recall was announced.

The voluntary recall affects Umpqua Dairy:

Milk, half-and-half and cream purchased on or prior to Aug. 16, 2010, or with an expiration date of Sept. 5, 2010 or earlier.

Orange juice and fruit drinks purchased on or prior to Aug. 16, 2010, or with an expiration date of Sept. 15, 2010 or earlier.

Market of Choice brand milk purchased on or prior to Aug. 16, 2010, or with an expiration date of Sept. 5, 2010 or earlier.
