Taste the flavors, meet the faces of Spain

Renowned chefs share gastronomy and wines of their homeland

 

EUGENE, Ore. – Meet two acclaimed chefs who will travel to Oregon from Castilla y León, Spain to share the foods and wines that have pinned their place on the culinary map.

Both of Valladolid, Spain, Chef Francisco Alonso Martín-Hinojal owns and operates La Garrocha restaurant, while Chef Pablo Gómez de Diego oversees the restaurant.

Chef Appearance & Tasting Event:

When: Friday, January 13, 4:30-7:30 p.m.

Where: Market of Choice, 67 W. 29th Ave., Eugene

“We are thrilled to welcome our guests,” said Market of Choice Artisan Chef Greg Cabeza. “They bring with them a great deal of knowledge and enthusiasm for the foods and wines of their region.”

In addition to preparing and offering tastings of classic and contemporary foods and wines, they bring with them many of the products made in their part of the world, including Spanish cheeses, dry-cured meats, oils, nuts, cakes and more. This marks the third year for this growing annual event.

“We had a wonderful turnout at last year’s Spain event, and we’re hoping people will be even more excited about it this year,” Cabeza said.

*Note: Spanish chefs will not make appearances at these locations.
