Preferred Vendors

Animal welfare is very important to us, which is why we've carefully selected these preferred vendors: Anderson Ranches Lamb from the Willamette Valley; grass-fed beef from Carman Ranch, based in Oregon's Wallowa Valley; and Painted Hills Beef from eastern Oregon, as well as Beeler's Pure Pork from Iowa, Northwest Draper Valley Chicken and West Coast-Caught Ocean Beauty Seafood.

Anderson Ranches has local charm. Family-owned and Oregon-raised, it's the best lamb you can buy. Grown on the rolling foothills of the Willamette Valley, where high precipitation guarantees lush green Oregon grasses, Anderson's lambs thrive in open fields with fresh air and lots of room to graze.

  • 100% grass-fed, Non-GMO and antibiotic-free.
  • Processed by Anderson Ranches in Brownsville, Oregon; not outsourced.
  • Certified Humane for their raising and handling practices.

Beeler's Pure Pork comes from a six-generation family that's been raising pork since 1846. The family utilizes some of Grandpa Beeler's Old World practices, combined with today's high-tech methods for succulent pork that's full of flavor.

  • 100% vegetarian-fed, Non-GMO, no antibiotics, preservatives or gluten.
  • Hogs are humanly raised, free of gestation crates and are allowed to move about and socialize in large, deep bedded pens with exterior access.

Carman Ranch of Oregon's Wallowa Valley is a collective of multi-generational family ranchers from Oregon, Washington, California and Nevada who share a common mission: to demonstrate that building community, restoring the soil and respecting the animals are essential to growing exceptional 100% grass-fed beef.

  • Cattle is never confined; 100% pasture-raised, grass-fed.
  • Never fed grain or grain by-products.
  • Hormone-and antibiotic-free beef.

Draper Valley Farms has been a Northwest tradition since 1935, and today remains focused on providing carefully raised, fresh, local chicken. Its brands include Draper Valley Farms Certified Organic Roxy Chicken, Ranger Free-Range Chicken and Draper Valley Farms All Natural Chicken, all raised without animal by-products.

  • Vegetarian-fed, antibiotic-free, raised in the Northwest.
  • Draper Valley Ranger and Certified Organic Roxy, Non-GMO, free-range chickens are raised in open chicken houses that are approximately 60-feet-wide by 240-feet-long and are never overcrowded. Handlers can enter the houses and comfortably walk around without adding any stress. Chicken houses also have window flaps that automatically rise when the temperature reaches 70 degrees to let chickens outside to graze on grasses.

Painted Hills Natural Beef has been a Market of Choice favorite for years. Its flavor and quality is unmatched. We are proud to support Painted Hills' Northwest ranchers who believe in sustainable, humane practices. Born, raised and processed in the United States; it's beef you can trust.

  • 100% vegetarian-fed, no antibiotics or hormones.
  • Animals roam and feed on natural grasses in eastern Oregon.
  • Before being processed, they are led to open-pasture feed lots and fed corn, oats, barley and alfalfa (no animal by-products) to put on the fast fat that gives it great flavor and heavy marbling.
  • Follows the American Humane Association's Welfare Standards for humane farm animal care and welfare.
  • Our stores also carry 100% grass-fed Painted Hills Natural Beef.

Tender Bison is extra lean, making it one of the healthiest meats available to consumers. Each animal is source-verified and can be traced back to the ranch where it was born. Tender Bison operates a harvest facility in New Rockford, North Dakota, recognized as one of the most humane harvest facilities and one of only a few USDA and EU-approved bison processing facilities in the United States. High in iron and low in fat and cholesterol, bison has fewer calories than chicken, beef or pork. Taste the difference.

  • Hormone- and antibiotic-free
  • Animals thrive on a natural diet of free-range grazing and are briefly grain-fed prior to processing
