Market of Choice Private Release Wines
The Market of Choice wine team has been working quietly but diligently to source high-quality, reasonably priced wines that are representative of their source region, and that provide pleasure no matter when or how they are enjoyed. From that work, we have crafted two exciting new brands that are found only at Market of Choice. Whether you need something for a special occasion, for sipping on the deck, at the beach or maybe at camp, reach for Community Cellars and our sparkling wines under the Bubbles Project label.
Purely Oregon, a new Market of Choice wine brand, will bring to our shelves distinctly Oregon wines crafted by our dynamic wine community. Every final blending and bottling will be a collaboration with our wine team to ensure every wine meets our expectation of quality and flavor decidedly Oregon. Our partner winemaker will change from time to time, so if a particular bottling brings a little extra smile to your face, be sure to pick up a few cases before it’s gone.
The first member of the Community Cellars family is John Grochau of Grochau Cellars. His first vintage as owner and winemaker at Grochau Cellars was 2002. Twenty years later, he continues to strive to make wines that are balanced, textured and expressive of place. John’s prior restaurant experience also shapes his wines, drawing on the perspective that wine is best paired with good food. Inspired by the diversity of the Willamette Valley’s soils and microclimates, Grochau sources fruit from organic and sustainably farmed vineyards. Grapes are hand-harvested, and wines undergo a slow, natural fermentation.
Working with legacy grape varieties in the Willamette Valley, John has crafted a Pinot Gris, a Rosé of Pinot Noir, a Chardonnay and a Pinot Noir as our first Community Cellars wines. All but the Pinot Noir will be available by mid-April across our stores, with the Pinot Noir ready by mid-summer, if not earlier. The Bubbles Project
Sparkling wines are not just for special occasions anymore, which is why our wine team has worked hard to identify sources of wines that represent their region, are food-friendly and are delicious to sip any time. Through The Bubbles Project, we will source sparkling wines from the best regions and wineries to provide you with a delightfully enjoyable experience.
The Bubbles Project Prosecco DOC Frizzante is made by Venegazzu in Volpago del Montello, Italy. There, they produce a wonderful range of Prosecco and other wines. With their partnership in The Bubbles Project, we bring to our wine shelves a wonderful, food-friendly Prosecco. The DOC guarantees the source fruit and the finished wine.
The MoC Bubbles Project Champagne is a beautifully sparkling true Brut Champagne crafted by our friends at R. Dumont & Fils in Champignol-lez-Mondeville, a village in the southern Champagne region of the Aube. It is a lovely, crisp and expressive Champagne that pairs well with a range of foods and elevates the mood of any occasion.
