Answer

Shade Grown, a traditional farming method, is the most sustainable way to grow coffee beans. Trees provide shade, protecting the coffee beans from the scorching sun, while providing habitat for songbirds. The birds provide natural insect control, completing the circle. This sustainable method of farming uses little or no chemical fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides. Many organic coffees are shade grown, and we have some great varieties at Market of Choice.
