Ziba Foods Snacks

Ziba Foods is an artisanal nut and dried fruit company that provides health conscious consumers with delicious nutrient-dense, sustainably grown and socially responsible food sources, all grown in the mineral-rich valleys of Afghanistan. Working directly with small-scale farms and cooperatives, Ziba sources only the highest quality agricultural products, many grown wild without active cultivation. Combining traditional hand sorting with modern food safety standards, Ziba is working to restore Afghanistan to its position as a world-renowned provider of nuts and dried fruit.

Ziba makes products that grow where they are meant to grow and taste the way they are meant to taste. With no added ingredi¬ents (other than Afghan salt in some of our roasted nuts) or preservatives of any kind, and either wild-foraged or grown as genera¬tional heirlooms with no interference from commercial agriculture, their products are as natural as it gets. This means that all of their products taste better and are more nutritious than their conventional / commercial counterparts. Their products give me confidence that not only am I consuming products grown in a sustainable way, but that I’m supporting the creation of full-time employment for women and farmers in one of the world’s most marginalized places. Further, I love Ziba prod¬ucts because they caused me to have a jaw-dropping moment when I first tried them. I couldn’t believe that a raw almond could be so delicious, and that so much flavor could be packed in a single, tiny pistachio nut! Finally, I know that Ziba products have not been selected / grown for their looks, size, shape, or usefulness in commercial-sized food products, at the expense of nutritional benefit. The result is a snack that is better for me, and better for the planet.
