PARTNER STORIES

Case Coffee

Case Coffee - Ashland

This is a coffee story that will warm your cup and your heart. Kati and Tim Case have a passion for coffee and the people who grow it. This husband-and-wife team searches the world to ethically source the most sustainable beans on Earth, paying well over Fair Trade prices to the people who grow them. Founded in Ashland in 2006, Case Coffee Roasters brings these complex coffees back to Oregon and roasts them in small batches, leaving all the sweet, multifaceted flavors intact. From the farm to your cup, it’s coffee you can consume with good conscience. “As a roasting company, we care deeply about the producers that grow our coffees, and it’s our greatest joy to connect with them at farm level,” says Kati Case. Our Baristas are proud to serve Case Coffee at our southern Oregon stores. You’ll also find freshly roasted Case Coffee beans in our Market Coffee Departments.

Mizuba Tea

Mizuba Tea Co. - Portland

Charmed by the peaceful tea fields of Uji, Japan, Lauren Purvis made it her mission to share her fondness for matcha tea with her own Portland community, through the meaningful connections she’s made overseas. Blessed to travel to many places throughout her life, tea was a constant that Lauren consumed and collected information about everywhere she went, starting in middle school. Today, she owns and operates Mizuba Tea Co. and works closely with small, family-run farms in Uji, Japan, to produce six grades of 100% authentic, shade-grown, stone-ground matcha. Lauren’s company also produces Japanese heritage loose-leaf teas, rarely found outside of Japan and carefully chosen from select farmers and producers. For more than 800 years, matcha is the only tea to have been used in the Japanese tea ceremony. Lauren honors and values matcha to bring people together and start conversations. Antioxidant-rich and easy to prepare, matcha contains nutrients from the entire tea leaf. Discover the magic of Mizuba Tea Co.’s versatile matcha teas, which also make a great ingredient for baking!

COFFEE & TEA OVERVIEW

We take our tea and coffee seriously. Where we source our coffee is important to us because we know it’s important to you. We’re constantly researching the latest coffee and tea trends and leaning in to learn from local roasters and tea makers who truly know their stuff.

When deciding whether to carry a particular coffee, we research the roaster’s sourcing practices, the quality of the beans, the roast profile and how the coffee cups.
