When the weather gets cold, grilled cheese is one of the best meals I can think of. There is no “right way” to make a grilled cheese.
Sure, you could argue that there is a traditional or classic way, but you can make grilled cheese into anything you are in the mood for. Consider the choices: First, there is the bread – so many types, styles, textures and flavors – then you can add any number of toppings. Most importantly, there is the cheese. You can use any cheese you like or any combinations you like, but the right cheese makes the meal.
Don't wait. Find some nice sourdough bread, grab some nice cave-aged gruyere, thinly slice some Granny Smith apples and grill to perfection.
