In the beer cellar this week: Hopworks Urban Brewery IPA: brewed with organic Amarillo, Centennial, and Ahtanum hops, and Canadian Pilsner, German Munich and Cara Munich malts. 6.6% ABV and 75 IBUs. Delicious citrus and pine aromas balanced with sweet malts. $3.99/22oz.
Elysian Avatar Jasmine IPA: English Pale, German Munich, German Carshell, English Crystal malts and Chinook, Glacier, and Amarillo hops with jasmine flowers added in the boil and hopback. 5.6% ABV. A fragrant nose with peppermint and pine aromas and sweet malts in the mouth. $3.99/22oz.
Deschutes Red Chair IPA: British Crystal, Cerman Pilsner, domestic Carapils and Munich malts. Hop forward with piney notes and cooked caramel flavors. 6.4% ABV and 55 IBUs. $5.39/22oz.

Fish Brewing Company has just released its Belgian-Style Triple. We will taste the 2009 Monkfish on Saturday at 5 p.m. Barrel aged and 10% ABV, $7.99/22oz.
Laughing Dog Devil Dog Imperial IPA: 98IBU with 5.2lbs of hops per barrel. Triple-dry hopped and 10%ABV. $6.49/22oz.
Black Diamond Free-Style Belgian Blonde: Belgian pilsner and rye malts, Belgian yeasts, and Bavarian noble hops. 5.2%ABV
Black Diamond Steep Trail Amber: English pale and crystal malts and British noble hops. The beer is a variation of the classic English Special Bitter and features caramel, toffee and nut flavors. 5.7% ABV. Yum!
Black Diamond Jagged Edge IPA: An IPA in the English-style with malt flavors coming through considerable hoppiness. 7.3%ABV, $8.29/6-pack. Back in stock, Russian River Pliny the Elder. Get it while you can!

Konig Ludwig Weisbier, a classic Bavarian wheat beer. This little gem
is gratifyingly cloudy in the bottle, pours golden amber into the
glass, fruity in the mid-palate with ripe apple, citrus, and malty

Deschutes Mirror Mirror 2009 Reserve is a barleywine-strength version of the Brewery’s Mirror Pond Pale Ale: lush malty notes with vanilla and raisin and a touch of citrus. $11.99/22oz. When you stop in, be sure to pick up the Marin Brewing White Knuckle
Double IPA. Lots of pine resin with hints of malt segueing into a

In our popular 5L kegs, I’ve added a classic Dopplebock from Bayern Brewing in Missoula, Montana. Very dark amber color. Roasted malts in the mouth, no hints of sweetness, but with nice creaminess and toasty notes on the finish. $18.99/5L.
Anderson Valley Hop Ottin IPA is a hoppy masterpiece from Boonville, California. High Alpha hops stirred during fermentation, then whole-cone dry hopped for intense citrus and pine needle flavors and aromas with bite. On sale at $2.89/22oz. btl.
This weekend marks the 13th Annual Legendary Boonville Beer Fest in Boonville(natch), a few hours drive south of Eureka on Hwy. 253. Lots of good grog and company.
And don’t miss the 3rd Annual Brewer’s Memorial Ale Fest, hosted by Rogue Ales, May 15-17 at the brewery on Newport’s south bay waterfront – more than 50 breweries, live music, local seafood and dog-inspired entertainment.
